My Kitchen Must-Haves

Christmas is coming and here are some great gift ideas for the kitchen

With so much of my focus being in the kitchen and the foods that will fuel my healing I’ve found some amazing kitchen tools that make life sooo much easier. If you’re looking for a gift for someone else or for yourself I’m going to give you all my top products and tips. I am not an affiliate of any of these companies

1. Our Place – Always Pan – I saw this pan circulating around the Whole30 world for awhile. Then some of my fellow coaching friends got the pan. They couldn’t stop talking about it and I finally took the plunge in the spring. This pan is AMAZING. Nothing sticks to it. It’s the easiest cleanup. It replaces 8 different kitchen items—

1) steamer and strainer  2) Sautee Pan 3) Saucepan 4) Saucier (rounded saucepan) 5) Skillet 6) Fry Pan 7) Nonstick pan 8) Spoon rest – it’s built into this pan.

Also The Always Pan is coated in a non-toxic, enviromentally-friendly ceramic non-stick coating. No PFOA, PTFE, GenX chemicals or other questionable materials.

2. Vitamix Blender – this is a new addition to the family. Where has this been all my life? I have preached for a long time that we can get all of the nutrients we need with whole foods in the form of a scramble, soup, salad, or smoothie. Once I got on my gut protocol through Dr. Will Cole I really came to appreciate these methods especially the soups! I was never a soup person – I am now. Did you know that you can make HOT soup in Vitamix? Yeah, I know I had no idea.

We got a deal at Costco on this. $299 for the blender with all the accessories. It’s quite a deal. These used to cost upwards of $400-$500. The Costco set comes with two blender cups, cup attachments, and the muddler (not sure what it’s actually called). DEAL!

3. Ninja Foodi – So we had one of these and now we REALLY have one of these. Like any product, developments come along in the newer version that just blow away the original. Big thing with new one is added features (it’s now a 14-in-1 6.5 quart) and eliminated the necessity of a second lid for pressure cooking. It literally does everything from being an air fryer to a steamer to dehydrating to baking to slow cooking to sou vid!

So much in one easy to clean device. I actually don’t use the oven very much at all anymore. From chicken wings to jerky to yogurt it cooks fast. The one feature I think is so handy is that I can cook a protein and a side at the same time because it has two levels. Life-changing and I would never be without one of these again.

4. Cast Iron Skillet – LODGE is the staple brand and I know there are others but it is the one I know.

Facts are facts and anything and everything just tastes better in a cast iron skillet. Unlike the Our Place pan, cast iron skillets can take high heat temps. We like to sear a meat like a steak in the skillet, and then put the entire skillet in the oven for the rest of the cooking. The photo below shows you what a well-seasoned cast iron skillet looks like. My husband gets all the credit for that part of the job. Also like all of these appliances and tools there is a right and a wrong way to clean them. The right way is actually the easier way but the wrong way will be detrimental to the process so pay attention to the care guide.

5. Slow Cooker – Boring, I know but even though the Ninja Foodi does this, I like to have one available. I can multi-task this way and on a meal prep weekend day I can be doing two – three things at once. We got ours at Costco and got the 7-quart but obviously there’s many places you can get this and it will be a good product. Bed Bath & Beyond always has the 20% off coupon you can use for any of these products remember. Here’s a link to the one we got at Costco

Happy and healthy holiday season to all of you and let me know another product that you love or if you have one of these!!!
